The people behind Veterans Business Base
The Board of Trustees meets four times per annum and is responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of key performance indicators, including user engagement, supported business start-ups, networking events and financial performance.

Scott Davies – Trustee
Scott Davies is a seasoned change specialist with over 28 years of experience supporting Defence and the veteran community.
Passionate about enhancing veterans’ career opportunities, Scott is dedicated to helping veterans succeed in both industry and self-employment.
Stephen Henderson – Trustee
Steve served for six years in the 3rd Battalion of the Parachute Regiment. After leaving the Armed Forces, he retrained as a plumber and went on to found Henderson Heating, which became one of the largest heating contractors in Suffolk.
Following a six-year study programme at Leeds Becket University (where he obtained a first-class Honours Degree in Building Services Engineering), he formed Synergi Consulting in 2017, a consultancy focusing solely on renewable technology.
Sally Gatie – Trustee
Sally Gatie is an established Artist, exhibiting her paintings in both solo and group exhibitions throughout the UK
With 25 years teaching experience, Sally has passed on her artistic knowledge to individuals and community groups, developing their skills and quality of life through art. www.sallygatie.com
Executive Team
Malcolm Jones, Chief Executive Officer
Malcolm spent ten years in UK property management before forming his own hospitality, property development and business advisory business in 1982.
In 2009, the business advisory service was approached by a veteran requesting help in a dispute with HMRC. Following the successful resolution of the dispute, he mentioned Malcolm Jones to his old regiment in Catterick who subsequently invited Malcolm to advise other veterans who were undertaking rehabilitation courses at the Beacon Veterans Specialist Centre at the Catterick Garrison. This led to further introductions to other service charities and the birth of the organisation which was constituted formally as the Veterans Business Base charity in 2021. Malcolm and Bridget have devoted themselves full-time to supporting veterans since 2019.
Bridget Jones, Chief Operating Officer
Bridget has a background in marketing, human resources, office management and book-keeping.
Bridget has worked with Malcolm since 2009 to support veterans and co-founded Veterans Business Base with him in 2020.
